a little hiking home "movie"

We made this mini home "movie" from video shorts we took while hiking at Dusty Lakes last month. Had to work with the footage we got in the field once we got home, but it was a fun project to put together...

our winter pics mostly look like spring ...

Some winter pics from the last few months and our trip to Seattle in February. http://s43.photobucket.com/user/AloraDanen/library/2015/winter%202015

And Dino Peter...

MasterChef Junior Eva

Eva is obsessed with the new MasterChef Junior show, so we are trying to give her some opportunities to help us in the kitchen. When she's in the mood, she doesn't want any help. She wants to do it all herself. These are videos when we made shrimp egg rolls and she did most the work, including dicing all the shrimp, which was her favorite part.

early Christmas 2014

Here's pics from our early Christmas. We made do with a lampstand Christmas tree this year, but I think it actually looked good, and the kids liked it. The favorite gift of all was Peter's Blaze the Dragon from GG. Man, he is obsessed with that thing! He even took it to the gym this morning.

This weekend was busy, with a trip to Leavenworth on Saturday for very crowded Christmas festivities and then our "early" Christmas morning on Sunday.

Here are a few videos. The first is a bit of Eva's school concert. The kindergarten class sang 4 songs, but Peter was being relatively disruptive so it was hard to videotape it. Here is the ABCs in sign language and then the Christmas ABCs song.

This next video was Peter inspired to sing in the car on the way home from Eva's concert. Of course, he was singing much longer version while we were walking to the car. This was all he would sing once we got there.

Here is Peter telling us about Blaze the Dragon on Christmas morning.

Fall and soccer pics

Pics from fall and the end of Eva's soccer season.

Happy winter, all!

pre-Christmas singing extravaganza

Eva's holiday concert part 1. She is in the top left next to the kid in the orange shirt. You can't see her too well, but at least interested grandparents can see what the concert was like... :-)

Part 2:

Since Blogger seems to be uploading videos well today, here is the kids singing Jingle Bells. They never get to the verses, and they love it ... and it never ends! Yikes...

Videos and Peter's Birthday

Peter reading his Cars book. He's obsessed with the page about Mater and Lightning McQueen going tractor tipping.

The kids playing ball outside. It has been a beautiful October here.

Playing with Peter's new dinosaurs: he knows a handful of dinosaur names now, and obviously Eva knows a few more, but he's catching up quick -- the only show they watch these days is Dinosaur Train.

Pictures from Peter's birthday and a few other late fall pictures can be found here...

Fall fun and Eva's birthday

http://s43.photobucket.com/user/AloraDanen/library/2013/Fall%20Firsts%20and%20Celebrations Pics from the last few months, including dance, soccer, school, and Eva's birthday. A number of these have been posted on Facebook, but some are new...

Pictures from Grandparent visits

Mostly pics of the kids eating... I guess that's mostly what they do! ;-) Thanks for all the visits, grandparents! :-)

You can tell it doesn't rain here very often...

Eva's preschool graduation

Not great pics or video, but here's a sample of what they did at
graduation. These two videos were the entire graduating classes (preK
through 1st), and these are the two songs they sang. Eva's class (3 and
4s alone) also sang two songs, but I didn't get those on video. Peter
was pretty squirmy (very very very squirmy) and Jon was out of town, so
it was a bit of a challenge!

Eva's in the front middle, greenish brown swirly dress.

Springtime pics!

Some springtime pics, although it was 90 degrees for a week, so some look like summer pics! :-)

Chicks and Chicks on Bikes!

http://s43.beta.photobucket.com/user/AloraDanen/library/2013/Chicks%20and%20Chicks%20on%20Bikes

New pics from the last two months. We got three chicks and we're planning on getting a few ducks a well in a few weeks to add to our flock! So far both kids love the chicks, and we've managed to not let Peter kill any, so I think we're doing pretty good! We also got a loaner two-wheeler that's a little smaller than Eva's Christmas bike, and after all her balance bike practice, she picked up biking right away. Took her about two minutes to be biking without training wheels, and soon after that she was even figuring out how to start on her own and get pedaling. Exciting! Once she grows just a little taller, she'll be ready to do her Christmas bike without training wheels.

A few videos. The first is Eva's "tiger dance."

This is Eva biking this morning at the park before church:

Winter pics

New pics from 2013 so far. We've mostly been sick this year, so... yeah. Hope that's over with!

Peter learning his animal noises

Peter repeating his animal noises book. Some drool is involved, too.

Peter's Birthday and Halloween Pics

http://s43.beta.photobucket.com/user/AloraDanen/library/2012/Peter%20Birthday%20and%20Halloween

Pics from Peter's birthday and Halloween. Sorry that Photobucket jumbled them all up. I don't have time to reload them all!

Also, a few videos:

Peter on Halloween. Playing "Boo" and laughing hilariously with Mommy. He also knows how to blow when you say something is "hot."

Peter playing with his new toy from Ian and Liz. One of the first toys he really understands how to work that doesn't just involve banging or putting things in his mouth.

Fall Fun in Moses Lake

Some pics of the last few weeks, and the kids enjoying the fall weather and playing together. We had one costume party so far...looking forward to Peter's birthday on Saturday and a few more Halloween get-togethers the rest of the month!
